I know that with me living in the DFW area that Envoy is the most likely the regional I want to go with. So my questions are, if selected to be an envoy cadet instructor when do the health insurance benefits kick in, as well as when do all the other benefits kick in as well? Also is being a cadet instructor really worth it in regard to having a better pick when base/equipment is assigned in new hire? Lastly if anyone could give some insight on the pay as a cadet instructor with Envoy that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
So first you’re gonna apply through airlineapps.com, and then go through an interview just like a normal street hire. If selected, then you commit to envoy. If you’re already at a partner school then tell them which one, or they can help place you. You’re paid whatever the flight school pays you for instructing. If I remember correctly, the school sent my paycheck to envoy, then envoy would pay me through their payroll system. I don’t remember exactly when health benefits kick in. Flight benefits start once you commit to the program, which is great. As for picking base and aircraft, as a cadet you’ll pick first. You’ll be placed in seniority using DOH among the other cadets. We really have no idea what they’re gonna do class wise, but the majority of time there are 175 slots, and being a cadet greatly increases your chances of getting a 175 slot. That’s assuming you really want the 175. If you have any other questions feel free to DM me.
