I know the 320 is a nicer and more comfortable airplane, but that alone does not seem like enough to cause such a seniority difference. Any thoughts?
My only guess is that for a lot of the bids in 2018 and 2019 there were more upgrades on the 737 being given when the vacancies came out so it drove it down to being more jr. I have no real data to back it up if that’s true or not, just what my naked eye saw. But at the end of the day seniority doesn’t lie and the AB is just flat out more desirable to most. In 2020 I think it will even out more, although if and when the Max comes back I think you will see a big drop again on the 737 compared to the AB. Just my thought.
