Absolutely. I left Allegiant for Spirit. I took a pay cut, for the one year, but it was the best thing I’ve done. 1000% night and day.
To give folks an idea of why I’m here now. I am a junior line holder for December. I had a lot of obligations I needed to do this month. My buddy asked me if I could go on a cruise last month and I had a lot of Xmas parties to attend.
Original award comes out. I’m working Xmas. Absolutely fine. I’ve hardly worked any my entire career. Not an issue. I was able to make 1 of the 3 Xmas parties and wasn’t going to be able to stay for the whole 7 day cruise. Woulda JS back from a port on Day 5.
After spending a few minutes in Daily Open Time, I now have 19 off and am attending all Xmas parties and my cruise leaves this weekend. I am the most junior line holder in base and it made zero impact on getting my schedule how I needed it.
I dropped 8 hours below min guarantee, but who cares. I’m doing everything I want to do this month. Next month it would taken zero effort to fly 8+ above guarantee if I was really worried about it. Lots of soft pay here with our trips and the type of flying we do. Tons block in the 60s and credit in the 80s or more.
We are hiring 64 a month and upgrading 48 a month indefinitely. Have quite a few planes coming now thru end of 2021, then our order of 100 start showing up in 2022-27.
It is a good place man. Very good work rules/QOL. I couldn’t be any happier and honestly doubt I leave. After 8 months I’m 600 or so from upgrade. 48 a month upgrades that aren’t stopping. Do the math. So glad I’m here. Plenty of ex Awacers here as well.
