To the original poster, I tried to figure this all out a year ago and though I had it figured with a west coast commute, short reserve and equipment - then my choice has a change in contracts (CP) so now reserve is a big snowglobe of unknowns for when I get through training. Well what is known is there will be a lot of reserve.
This is one thing that won’t change anytime soon at XJT. We have 30 airplanes parked in need of crews. As fast as we can get pilots through training there is a spot for them. We do need a few reserves, but tome on reserve will be very short for at least the next year or two.
