Bingo. Their history all the way back to the multiple eagles hasn’t changed. What happened then is happening again. The only significant difference is the pilot shortage.
I’d make sure the union mergers committee is staffed and trained. I audited the training back 2014 with the committee members and it’s very very enlightening. Some of the case studies were very eye opening.
Going forward, just look in the rear view. What they’ve done before, they will do again. Trust (within reason since they’ve burned us so many times) but verify.... and have a SnapBack escape clause.
You’ve got some pretty decent union leadership right now from what I’ve seen, read, and some I’ve spoken with. Let them do their job. Support them ferociously when asked to. Now is a great time to be a pilot. There’s room at the table for everybody.
The fact that our two solid ORD reps are now in high leadership positions is fantastic. Regardless of their ability to get anything done I at least have faith they will always try and do what is right by the pilot group.
