There is also an expense to buying a plane that doesn’t fit the mission as effectively as an A-350 would. Those inefficiencies over 25 years would certainly add up and possible be more expensive than just having a separate fleet type, which is why we don't just fly one airplane.

Delta has 10 fleet types and they seem to be doing ok.
