And they are only placeholders on your schedule until the trip is complete. If you get rerouted into a PB day that was awarded as a result of your current trip (ie, the day after the trip was supposed to be a RES day) and you're subsequently RR'd into that day, you are now flying your last day of a RES GS on a RES day not a PB day.
