I used Adam’s coaching but I don’t know if I ‘needed it’ or not. I think it was hugely beneficial for me, especially when it comes to boosting my confidence but who knows? Maybe I’d have gotten the job without it?

I say coaching because, like someone else pointed out, it’s more of a coaching approach than an actual prep and I’m very glad I used his services. ..
Interviews are so PC nowadays and allowing someone else to critique your approach when addressing others might be very helpful.

..but it’s amazing how times have changed. Here we are debating whether an interview prep is ‘worth the money’ or if people should just ‘be themselves’ and hope for the best? Quite a gamble for a potential multimillion dollar job offer, isn’t it?

In the mid-90s there were guys and gals who’d fly across the country to visit eye specialists who’d make them hard contact lenses which would temporary reshape their eye corneas. It allowed them to pass United’s company medical. I remember a friend who’s basically torturing his own eyes with those hard lenses just to have a chance to fly for United. The travel costs, hotels, treatment, etc. all cost him thousands of dollars.
On top of that he did several sim and interview preps. ..and he DID get the job! Of course, two years later he was furloughed but...
I bring this up just to highlight how times have changed.

One of my acquaintances interviewed here almost two years ago. He didn’t get the job. He felt like he did alright but got the dreaded TBNT letter.
He chose not to use a prep because his schedule wouldn’t allow him to do so. His sponsor kept encouraging him to do it, just in case, but he felt like he’d be ok.
Would he get the job if he had prepped? Who knows? What we do know is that he keeps asking himself that very question over and over again and he’s being very hard on himself.
He’s hoping to get a second chance but so far he hasn’t been able to secure another interview.

Good luck to all prospective brownie-wannabies. Do what you think is right and never look back. Your success is ultimately up to you, we are merely your cheerleaders hoping you’ll do well.
