I'm pasting a post from the IPA board, I think he nails it:
C'mon....at the very least, if you are using OE/MS Word, turn on the
spell-check feature. If you aren't using OE/Word, Google is your friend.
Find a free spell check add in and use it!
Take a moment and review the difference between "lose", as in "you lose your
keys", and "loose", as in "your tie is loose". Or how about "they're",
(contraction: they are), "their" (poss.: "their house"), and "there", (as in
"over there")?
For a bunch of (allegedly) college educated, highly compensated, type A,
egotistical, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, professionals,
some of the stuff posted here is hilarious in its composition and grammar.
Before you hit the send key, think: spelling, usage, clarity! (A
punctuation review wouldn't hurt, either...)
If you want to be treated like a professional, spell, compose, and enunciate
like one.<g>
