If you head over to the Delta forum you will see that the pilot group willingly gave it up because of fear of being forced to give it up. It sounds like some got a lump sum and some get a PBGC payment. It sounds as if it was given up to “save” what was left of it. There are multiple news articles plus a Delta press release that says that it was taken away in bankruptcy. Are you saying that the Delta pilots voted to give away their pension? The only thing I could find is that the Delta pilots decided not to challenge the judges decision due to cost and the unlikely chance of success.
