Walking away and immediately asking for mediation doesn’t seem consistent with a ‘run out the clock to get through summer’ strategy. If management is full of evil geniuses that are hell bent on not paying a nickel more and simultaneously squeezing the last ounce of work and life from the pilot group, how does potentially advancing the clock towards getting a third party involved work towards their ends?
You do know how long it normally takes to get assigned a mediator correct? Also if you read their side of the story they are still willing to meet until we get a mediator. So if they do meet with the union from now until we get a mediator then they are telling the truth. If they don't negotiate with us between now and then it's just all lip service. Which they have been doing to the pilot group to placate us for the last 9 months...
