Alaska doing well for you?

I can’t speak for the folks that went to Alaska, Spirit, etc. However, I can tell you those of us that went to Fedex and UPS are very happy. I am working and average of 2-3 days less per month making just a tad less than even the new pay scheme working 7/7. And I’ve been able to go to many more of my kids games due to schedule flexibility and the fact I pay nothing when they are playing out of town. And my wife has been able to go to out of town events more frequently as well by using the ZED passes, would not have been possible paying full fare.

NJ is a good job if you are already there and even more if a Captain, as an FO, tough decision to stay and bypass (if offered) a Delta, United, Fedex or UPS. Going to Spirit, Frontier, JetBlue makes little sense to me. I did miss the job at the beginning, how can you not, 15+ years [emoji15]. But almost every aspect of my current job is better, almost. The points are nice, but they are becoming more useless by the year.

In the end, people are going to do what they think is best for them. I was very negative about NJ when I left, will admit things have changed for the positive. No one has a magic wand. The environment was very toxic when I left. Not so much anymore. Would I do it again had all the recent changes occurred prior to leaving? Can’t say one way or the other. What I can say is my bed is made and making the best of it. And having one BIG FINANCIAL BACKSTOP waiting for me at the end that doesn’t depend on market fluctuations is simply priceless!! And driving to work half the month is also priceless!
