Given the relatively small bonus (compared to some other regionals) and the unusually extended timeline for receiving it, I don't think that Republic is really attracting the bonus chasers. For me personally, I found the bonus to be a nice addition but it was a small factor in my decision. I think the goal of the CBA should be to increase pay rates to a level that might make the decision to jump to a LCC more difficult and encourage pilots to wait around long enough for the call from one of their top choices. I don't know what the average longevity of pilots on property is, but I have to think that potentially increasing the average stay a year or two could be a substantial advantage.
