Don't let some of these guys here discourage you. Going LCC is a good strategy. I left for Allegiant a few years back and took a beating on here from all the AA fanboys saying how stupid of a move it was. I happened to live in an Allegiant base city and I got hired when they were at 1.5 years or less for upgrade. Got my upgrade in the Bus and today I'm at Delta. Actually, I had no problem with staying at Allegiant for a career and would have been happy to do so. I interviewed at Delta thinking I wasn't going to get the job anyway as I was pretty happy.
Envoy would love for you to stick around in perpetuity waiting with those golden handcuffs for the magical flow. Even if you got lucky and maybe flowed in 7.5 years or so, think of how many off the street hires and flows would be above you. Giving up thousands of numbers in seniority in a seniority based business isn't a good long term strategy. The pickings are ripe today. Everyone is hiring in droves. Don't wait to round out the TPIC. Just get the apps out and start the job fair circuit now. You may find yourself hired before you round out the PIC.
And Spirit is a great place to be right now as far as I'm concerned. They don't have widebodies but they have great financials and confirmed orders for 300 total planes on property with 50 additional options. They are about 140 on the fleet at present. Take a look at the debt ratio post here. AA might think they are too big to fail but so did Pan Am, TWA and Eastern.
