This is a good point. And while they can't explicitly tell you what to do, they can prompt you that something isn't right, or if you're forgetting something, maybe make some leading statements that should be a trigger in your mind.
That stuff doesn’t really matter. It’s still a pic type ride.
What matters is when your “Captain” is a FO seat fill that is doing the same stuff you are doing. Last job they flew 172’s and it’s their first jet and doesn’t call for positive rate on a go around. or they mess up reading the QRH and you fail your type ride. This is worst case scenario though.
