Maybe you should. Not that other issues aren’t important but I’d say how I make money is at the top of my list. And we get compensated based on a union negotiated contract. If airlines weren’t closed shop you can bet there’d be a lot of hobbyists and dreamers that we work with that would do this job for half. Once they stop paying dues the power of the union gets diminished and eventually gets made irrelevant so even willing members drop out. The result lower pay and work rules over time. You can see it in any right to work state.

It's possible for a politician to appear pro union for a block vote, and still make terrible economic decisions that inhibit the playing feild for a union or company.
