As said before, you are protected if you get an AGR job, because you're essentially on AD orders. I know someone who got an airline job and an ART job and dropped his papers after he got to the line. A few years on mil leave never hurt anyone, except the airline of course, but toughskie poopskies. If they expect anyone to actually live off first year pay, it serves them right.
