I'm not ORD and never will be, but I don't see ORD as being a long term seniority problem. When I got hired in 2000, ORD was the most junior domicile.
I'm pretty sure UA has major expansion plans once the construction's complete so I'd expect it to be competitive with SFO and EWR as a junior base.
Well, in the very long term I think you are correct. I'm thinking the new runway would open in 2021 all right. I don't think they will even break ground on the new terminal buildings until that has happened. 2024 opening maybe? A lot can happen between now and then. I don't think the OP was looking quite that far out. He just wanted to know how long until he could get to ORD, and today it seems reasonably quick. Tomorrow maybe not.
