LCR is for assigning trips farther out than SCR, right? It's all about having the ability to forecast pilot needs against flight needs. I have been given 30 hours off on day 5, and I have been given 30 hours off on day 8 or 10. It all boils down to what CS needs to fill the seat.
And while it's true that being available in 14 hours seems like an "advantage" to CS, in the past seven months, I have had only one callout near the 14-hour mark. Most are around 24-48 hours in advance,. I also enjoy the fact that CS doesn't call me (other than that one 14-hour callout), so I am not on the hook to respond within 15 minutes.
You must be an outlier. I get called all the time, 2am-5am calls are the worst. True a lot of assignments come in the DRO, but I’d say it’s closer to 50/50 for me. Missed a call at 4 am once, woke up at 7am to find they had marked me advised when they left the voicemail. I guess they saved me a UTC, thanks?
