I don’t think we ever thought we’d be UPS pilots at Emery. And I think Menlo cane along after we were already shut down. At the time of the shutdown we were owned by CNF as a parent company. We may have thought we might merge with DHL, and there were always rumors of that, but not be future UPS pilots. I believe Emery and UPS formed their airlines in the same year (around 1988 or so), the difference being Emery never wanted an airline and did everything they could to divest themselves of one, including letting their maintenance get so bad they were “shut down” for it by the FAA (our contention in court anyway).
