Good story. That is one thing I always enjoyed about the AF - you never knew who you would run into at base ops/Red Flag/Balad/local bars etc. Always a mini-reunion to be had.

One funny story - a group of T-38 studs from Vance were regaling my wife at AJ's about their job as rodeo clowns and how cool it was. I walked up and my wife introduced me. After about 1 second, I figured out the act, called them on it, and figured out they were UPT students, to which they vehemently denied. Of course, they had no idea I was an AF pilot. After about 2 minutes of this crap, their IP walked up and they tried to get him in on the show. The IP? My Academy roommate for 4 semesters. Joke was on them.
