The Canadian government generally could give a rats *** about any convictions >10 years ago. That doesn’t convey a right though; they could remove you at any time unless you’re a permanent resident or citizen. They have the balls to denaturalize Canadians too (unlike the USA).
Oh here is the best part: Canadians with DUI convictions are not automatically inadmissible into the USA, by itself. Yup. Quite bilateral eh? There are lots of quirks. Indians born in Canada, with at least 50% of American Indian blood, are exempt immigration requirements to enter the USA. BUT Americans Indians born in the USA do NOT have a right or privilege to enter Canada! Lots of BS immigration rules. I wish Donnie T would have blew out the stupid DUI thing when he rewrote NAFTA.
