1. United probably has a negative outlook of scope relaxation. That is, no more 175s and a fleet of only 25 is too small.
2. We can’t train enough pilots quickly enough to have accepted the planes that ended up going to MESA. Not without removing 145s from service, which United needs and would have then become a small fleet at XJT.
3. Apparently TSA was in dire straights and we’re rescuing the flying for UA.
What I don’t get is the lack of planning for the TSA pilot group. I guess the hope is they just move over to gojets?
