Aircraft were transferred from the old ASA to SkyWest as SkyWest shut down the ALPA side of flying. The AS and EV tail numbers at SkyWest used to be flown by ALPA pilots. Fortunately, the pilots were able to work out a joint contract with XJT and they merged. The only ALPA carrier to throw the ASA pilots a preferred interview was Kalitta Air.
No one cared then and in a year or so no one will care about this round. The non ALPA pilots from SkyWest and GoJet will still have as good if not a better shot at getting hired at UAL than the pilots at ALPA UAX carriers.
Only time we care is when we ask for a jumpseat, while the crew will be on the streets within a year. We all like to talk the talk.
