I believe he is referring to the FA JS and the XFA JS. Working FAs have to sit in the seat next to the door panel for the MCD. The XFA JS is next to the service door. It’s common for people to switch seat at TOC and again at TOD.

That would be a lot better than what I was reading from it, but doesn't really apply to the ML pilot. I hope he clarifies.
On ML aircraft the extra JS (if only one, as some a/c have multiple) is usually in the aft galley and isn't notably different than the regular FA jumpseat positions. You can't be seated during service so the carts can get in and out etc.
