The track record for airlines or pilot groups taking care of those who end up on the street isn’t that great. We like to talk a good game, but not much ever happens. Go back to Braniff, Eastern, or Pan Am. Lots of talk about making sure that those pilots got ALPA jobs before others were hired, but it turned out to be mostly talk. I’m afraid that things haven’t changed. Unfortunately a bunch of good people are going to have some hard choices. Good luck to all of them.
