While it doesn’t say so verbatim, I think you can read the tea leaves that there will be a hiatus.
I recently posed training questions to PC at Crew Resources. He was open as much as he could be. Bottom line: too much in flux right now.
I had theorized that while we may be overstaffed on the 787 and 777 now due to the drawdown of Asia flying, there is a balance between staff reduction (say, due to attrition), vs training capacity shortfalls if they delay.
By coincidence, this was posted on APC yesterday. Seems to be an internal IATA paper....very interesting.
Bottom line: hiring will likely continue, but at a slower pace, until WuHu is resolved.
