With consolidation around the corner and $100.00+/barrel an oil the regional world is on a downturn. After 9/11 rj's were the solution, now we are the problem. With airlines not willing to raise prices, regionals are not as "problem solving" as they used to be. Eventually this will make more mainline jobs, problem is we are going to have a lot more competition, because there is a glut of regional pilots.............
RJ's are expensive to operate now. If you're burning 3000lbs/hr and carrying only 50 people at the most (provided you're not weight restricted as those rj's often are) expect to see reductions in RJ flying.
