Separate certificates but operated by pilots on a common seniority list. This will become a problem for management if the assertion by many of the ground staff in CVG is true. They are saying that they have been told that DHL is totally replacing the 747 lift with 777's within this year. Ok so far except that the vital landing rights in Asia that DHL needs are attached to the Polar certificate and thus can ONLY be operated by aircraft on the Polar certificate with "POLAR" painted in huge letters down the side of the airframe. As it stands only pilots on the current seniority list can operate those aircraft. Another reason that management are desperate to crush scope, force a merged seniority list and arbitrate a scope free bankruptcy style contract. Otherwise pilots currently on the PO/5Y list will have to operate 777's which can be accomplished in short order but does not fit with their dictatorial my way or the highway at all cost style.
