You can volunteer for a 50 hr line, but why would anyone do that?
If you don't want to work, bid a reserve line, get paid 73 hrs, and still do nothing. With all the low time lines, all the line holders will be picking up anything and everything to try to avoid a pay cut.
For that matter, I'm sure the crew desk will continue to build short calls just because they can, and you get paid more on reserve.....if you live in domicile, reserve just became the best thing at UAL.
Because reserve sucks, and a lot of us have side hustles, mil options, and/or don’t live pay check to pay check.
