You don’t appear to believe “it’s a real thing” so why hold managment to task for something that you’re convinced is make believe?
Why not just leave it at: “don’t work sick - the MEC has your back”? It’s apparent that the grievance committee is ready to spend a system board hearing for corona virus related sick leave counseling if management gets over zealous on calling people.
Regarding CORE4, I think it’s delivered in a hokey way, but having worked under managements who simply didn’t care - I’ll take it. If they won’t do the right thing (which could be the case) ALPA has the hammer.
What I think would be useful is to start exploring emergency pandemic allocations of sick leave due to “circumstances beyond our control”.
