I read that the economic pause in China has resulted in the equivalent of "6-months of carbon dioxide emissions of the UK" not being released into the atmosphere.

So it looks like those with political fringe theories will get their wishes in the short term, complete with a significant recession, food shortages and the divorces, suicides, unemployment, homelessness and social problems to go along with it.
