I’d say that’s true for all airline hiring right now...those decisions will likely evolve on a day by day and week by week basis, and I don’t think there is anybody on this board or in our (or any) c suites who truly know how this will play out and affect our industry. We are all along for the ride at this point. Let’s hope everyone starts going on with their lives and flying normally again soon.
Either way there will be an Annual Bid in August with lots of movement (currently International Ops, 220, A/C orders, and CBA requirements. The annual bid is good until Dec 31st of the following year. Supplemental bid favors the pilot in many ways IMHO, its all in the CBA. Its like tying your shoe (the annual bid) and then untying your shoes, taking them off and others trying to fit their foot back into your shoe as well. Might not fit? (the supplemental bid). If you are in place for International flying trained up, have a change of heart and have second chance (supplemental bid) to bid out....You can!
