Figure guarantee 72 hours for 6 months
165 x 72 x 6 = $71,280 x 2.5 pilots = $178,200
178,200 / 2500 pilots ~ $71.28 per pilot
Vs. how much would cash would they have had to pay each of us to put a lot more guys on a reduced line in April.
It’s insurance. We all pay for insurance in our life. In exchange for 5 days every pilot had insurance now to pay the bills IF anyone one of us gets this junk and won’t have to worry about money and can instead, worry about getting better.
It’s not like the company wasn’t going to take the 5 day’s anyway. They would have took the days and we would have had to sent it to arbitration. And it does nobody on this list any good to not allow the company to trim when necessary so we can not take a larger loss than necessary on these flights.
This is hitting the airlines right at the start of their most profitable time of year and a simple 5 days to help get stuff in line, while giving each pilot insurance, is fair for all sides.
