Guys, do your due diligence before handing over PII to someone you know nothing about. A good scammer knows how to play his targets.
The email address wasn’t “funky”.
It just wasn’t @google or @xcompany.
It was @protonmail, which is a known secure email provider.
A perfectly legitimate provider, and one I wouldn’t be surprised used for this.
