If you listen to the health experts, this virus is not nearly as deadly or widespread as the flu, and the elderly or those with underlying health conditions are most at risk of complications. For 98% of us, it is not deadly. I think somewhere around 20,000 Americans have died from the flu this year. There is no panic over that.
I’m not saying to not be cautious, but this panic is completely unnecessary and only makes it worse than what it really is. Let’s not fall into the trap ourselves. In the meantime, I’m gonna try to go and find something to wipe with since TP is all gone thanks to the doomsday panic.
CDC recommended today everyone over 60 stay home and not go out in public.
We have ~3500 pilots alone over the age of 60. How about our FAs? Mechanics?
I'm not sure where you are getting your info as far as it not being as deadly as the flu. It is about 15x-20x as deadly. It hasn't had enough time to spread here yet. The surgeon general stated today that they've basically given up on containment.
