I can live just fine on 125k. It’s all about QOL. If somebody told me I could start out at mainline making 300k year one, but I had to sit reserve my entire career.... I’d be perfectly fine sitting right where I’m at. Each person has a different level of tolerance for what they’re willing to put up with.

Your advice sounds better suited for a single guy fresh out of college. I on the other hand am not willing to be miserable for an extra year of a higher salary 30 years from now.

I’m not saying to not jump on the first opportunity to move on. Most of the time that’s the safer play. But in today’s scenario I would say a majority of people who have moved on in the previous year are wishing they would have waited just a little bit longer.
