I am talking about being carved-out of FAR's that other air carriers have adopted - not TSA guidelines. I see our carveout as a strategically bad position for us to be in, career-wise. I understand what you are talking about. The term carve out has referred to not just FARs but the entire gambit - that's been mentioned in almost all of the ALPA communications. So don't think you can't be carved out still - jumpseaters and animal handlers are very much in control of the FAA in addition to the TSA.
