Some pilots didn't have much choice. I've seen boeing rj pilots that can't fly without auto throttles and I know " major " airline pilots that have the personality of a politician. The last pilot I heard that landed on a taxiway was from the major leagues.
Timing is everything and putting pilots into tiny groups that fight against each other is infantile and small minded.
