I think that the health threat posed by the widespread infection of our population, while a cause for concern, will really only be a minor nuisance to most people, except for the aged and infirmed. This will turn out to be a storm in a tea cup COMPARED to the long term economic fall out that we'll experience as a result of the widespread pullback of so many of our important business sectors and the subsequent domino effect on virtually all others.
Cash flow is the lifeblood of all businesses and when revenue falls off a cliff, if you're not sitting on a pile of cash, or have access to a credit line, you will have trouble making payroll and paying for goods and services, etc.
We've had a great 10 year run, but we all know the music had to stop one way or another. If you did not/was not able to build up a solid Emergency Fund, you might be left without a chair.
