knowing someone personally in ICU right now fighting for their life, perfect health before, this illness is a much different experience in my personal eyes. This person was a healthcare worker and trace analysis was unable to find the source of infection.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your friend makes a full recovery. It seems like healthcare staff are at high risk even though they are very healthy. Perhaps they are exposed to much more viral amount than the rest of us?
