I run the APU on the ground now too, but I don’t do it for the air, I do it so that when pax are on the airplane, they have water to wash their hands... I rate that higher than air.

besides with the loads starting to drop off ground crews are asking 35-40 minutes prior to departure to disconnect power and air because they’re done loading the bags...
