As someone fairly low on the seniority list, an with rent and bills to pay, I really am appreciative to those who took a cut to keep us all on payroll for now. I know it isn't easy for anyone, but it says a lot that we are in this together at ZW.
Just want to get the facts out in regards to C5. We have 3700 hours scheduled in April. Roughly a 60% cut. We are parking 13 planes in the short term. Our MOU goes until May 31st. Pilots have just finished submitting a bid for one of the following:
  1. Normal line.
    1. 75 Hours of Pay
    2. 65 hour line
    3. We have the ability to give out 75 of these lines per seat.
    4. We then need a 30% reserve coverage. This works out to roughly 195 pilots who will receive normal lines.
  2. 40 Hour Long Call Reserve
    1. 10 Days given to the company
    2. 72 hour call out
    3. The union does not expect these pilots to be used at all. This is only in the MOU to help give a paycheck to pilots and to aid in any possible snap back to regular ops.
    4. Long call cannot be converted to any other reserve, can only be scheduled to fly.
  3. COLA
    1. All benefits kept
    2. No Pay
    3. Month to Month Bid
  4. Voluntary Furlough
    1. All benefits kept under the MOU
    2. No Pay
    3. You come back when recalled.
In the end we need 80 pilots to take the COLA or Voluntary furlough. If we do indeed furlough 80 then that last pilot was hired in June of last year. About half of those 80 are not even line qualified yet and are still in some phase of training, with many sitting at home for months awaiting IOE.

We'll learn the results tonight, but from what I'm hearing the 40 Hour Reserve line is going to go senior on the Captain side, and the normal line is going to go to mid-tier / junior pilots. We have a handful of guys who have the ability to go without a paycheck for a month or two and are stepping up to take a leave.
