There is no evidence that social distancing and other endeavors are an effective method for reducing disease transport.

Perhaps the disease is already widespread? An Oxford University study estimated already half of the U.K. has been infected. If (big if) that is the case the disease has already spread. We are basing behavior on unproven theory.

Perhaps there is nothing we can do but herd immunity?
