A couple things though. We need to do everything we can to keep an extra clean environment onboard the aircraft AND make sure the public knows it. I think a good indicator of domestic travel will start to show itself in the numbers 6 months after Disney World in Orlando and the casinos in Vegas reopen. Both in seats filled in the air and at the businesses themselves. Business travel is whole other animal. I know a lot of businesses (including some where I know people personally) will ask themselves after a good period of forced telework/teleconferencing just how much of their travel is really required.
I'll make a note to revisit these posts in 2 years as well.
I don't disagree with the first part of your statement RE: cleanliness.
We heard the same thing after 9/11 and those other events I mentioned RE: business and leisure travelers. Business will travel again. Families are going to go back to wally world, they are going to vacation in Europe, they are going to go back to Asia. This will pass, and it will pass sooner than you think. This is nothing new other than the advent of triggering social media and the proliferation of 24/7 news and information. Doom, gloom, blood and death sells (gets clicks now these days - same thing). Good news doesn't. I'm not worried about what we'll be in 2 years. Neither should you. BTDT.
