Twenty plus years of doing this. Voluntary measures only delay .They never mitigate. The last two brand X's I worked for said they needed to furlough. After concessions and VMs they furloughed those exact numbers anyway .
Now, if the current mood is just to stave off a unforseen blip in the business, all is well . If one believes what UAL management is publicly saying, this is a long term problem with long term solutions then that will marry up to my above post .
Personally, I think we can ride it out short term and be back on track within six months .I hope that is the case . If not, bottom 25-50% of both sides of the list need to plan accordingly .
