It took me about a week and a half to get an e-mail back from them. The gouge on mypilotcareer.com is right on and they have all the questions that they are going to ask you on the written and in the HR/Technical portion. If you have taken a CRJ Transition Course then expect to be asked questions about the CRJ. We had a guy not make it through the HR/Technical portion that did do the CRJ Course. I felt bad for him because he was a pretty good guy and would have been easy to share a cockpit with. As for me I only have 650TT and 38 ME with a CFI. So they asked me mental math questions about crossing fixes and certain altitudes. I’m in and out of Lexington a lot so they asked me about the Comair crash and what I have done with my students to ensure that they practice safety while taxing. Why PSA? Have I ever broken an FAR? What was the biggest struggle in my last certification? Tell me about a manager that I worked well with and why? Do I learn better with a lot of direction or little direction? They looked at my log books. Mrs. Brame the lady who sends the e-mails actually does your interview along with a check airman, a chief pilot and Mr. Fusi the manager of flight standards. They are laid back, funny and the nicest people. So go in there and have a good time. If you go in there and never crack a smile or laugh then they probably won’t want to share a cockpit with you, so keep that in mind. The sim is an MD-80 PCATD and it’s not that bad. You will get a sim profile that explains the entire ride and it said to use 1.3 EPR’s for 250 knots but it’s easier to use 1.2 EPR’s for the 250 knots that you will have to maintain. When you do your descents pull the power back and just pitch for 250 in the decent. The ILS is easy and just like every other ILS pitch for glide slope and power for the 140kts approach speed.
