If you (or your wife) don't want you to go to work, take KLOA for May-July, and PD your schedule for April.
This is probably the answer. Can't sick out for the duration of this. It is the job. If you get it, maybe 1% chance of dying. You will sacrifice to avoid transmission to her and the family. If she still doesn't like it, weigh the cost of the leave and personal drops and let her decide if the money is worth the risk.
