Number 9. This LOA is only really useful for our RTP/Military Reserve pilots. They will be able to supplement their income with mil leave and most likely are not on the company health care anyway, so no financial burden coming from that. I would say a good deal of them also already have some form of retirement from the military so can afford to lose $3-5K each month in lost wages.

There may be a few other outliers, but this is geared directly for them and them only. Everyone else who isnt in that position, doesn't have a second income stream, has a significant other who may have been laid off, those who use company insurance, those who dont live with their parents all have no help whatsoever with this.

Dera you talk about options being good and I am glad that our military brothers and sisters will get help with this, but there are zero options for everyone else.
The company may THINK they are targeting military with the CSLOA, but it’s not going to work.

While there may be a VERY small group that can get mil time seemingly on demand, the reality is that those Guard and Reserve people do their required days and not much more. That usually averages out to about six days a month. Most can’t do more than that unless there is a deployment involved, either the actual deployment or train up. Those mil days end up helping out those that are trying to pick up open time because if they’re a line holder, those days end up there in OT, or if they are out for a whole month that means one person lower on the seniority list gets a line.

Most folks still aren’t going to be able to make it on 25% pay plus their normal military days.
