I don’t see it that way. AA has literally thousands of wide body pilots that can’t do anything. I mean, is AA going to keep a 777 up in the air with 4 pax in back going from JFK to LAX?

No, they’ll put a guppy or Fifi on that route. Heck, they’d put an Eclipse jet on that route if they had any.

They need more narrowbodies and less widebodies for the time being. Probably for a long time.

These are desperate times and they call for desperate measures. Not sure I can fault AA for that logic.
